Navy League of Canada Sudbury Branch

Supporting Sudbury Youth Through Seamanship and Citizenship.

The Navy League of Canada Sudbury Branch is an entirely volunteer organization that supports the Navy League Cadet Corps SUDBURY and Royal Canadian Sea Cadets Corps ADMIRAL MOUNTBATTEN. The Sudbury Branch undertakes to enhance the many services and elements needed to keep our cadets, ages 9 to 18, safe, interested, and motivated.

We are a community-based, volunteer-led organization dedicated to developing the resourcefulness, vitality, and leadership of young Canadians through an appreciation of our great naval traditions. The Sudbury Branch helps ensure that all this is freeto cadets of both Corps.

The Branch is responsible for fundraising, providing facilities and promoting the Corps activities. Our Branch Council meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

If you have skills (accounting, fundraising, public relations, IT, etc.) you think might be useful to the Branch, please contact us

The Royal Canadian Sea Cadet program is a civilian youth program delivered by the Department of National Defence, supported by the Navy League of Canada. The Sea Cadet program is open to youth between the ages of 12 and 18. There are nearly 8,000 Sea Cadets active in 230 communities across Canada, including one in Sudbury Ontario.

Sea Cadets learn valuable skills that help with their transition to adulthood. They come out of the program as self-aware, self-sufficient leaders with an invested interest in their communities and the skills to actively contribute to society in meaningful ways. Throughout their training, Sea Cadets learn about teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication, and participate in activities to improve their communities, all through the lens of a maritime focus.

Our program welcomes youth between the ages of 9 and 12 for fun, naval-themed activities. This program is independently operated by the Navy League of Canada, with the help of hundreds of dedicated volunteers across the nation. There are more than 3,000 Navy League Cadets active in over 100 communities across Canada, including Sudbury, Ontario.

The Navy League of Canada is a non-profit volunteer lead organization that supports youth education and leadership programs as well as promotes the maritime interests of Canada. Active in communities throughout the nation with partners across industry, together we work to support young Canadians via positive citizenship initiatives that reinforce the value of the navy and our service members. In the navy league, we know that everyone can make a difference in building a kinder and stronger world.

A nonprofit is only as strong as the community that holds it up. Together, we can do more than we can do alone. Let's bring our abilities and passions together to affect real change. There are MANY ways to join us and support our mission. Adult volunteers can work with local Branches or become Navy League Cadet officers.
